VIP Structures Purchased the Former Post Standard Building

The 275,000 SF Post Standard Building will be the new home for VIP Structures. Since January of 2017, VIP has hired 44 new employees and has committed to hiring at least 35 additional employees over the next few years. VIP’s new home will be in 30,000 SF of the first floor of the facility. The second floor, roughly 50,000 SF, has been slated for additional office space.

“We’ve had several companies approach us about the additional 50,000 SF of office space. What is most exciting about these key prospects is that they too are experiencing exponential growth, are committed to downtown, and want to help foster the live-work-play community we know downtown Syracuse is well on its way to being,” said Dave Nutting.

The remaining square footage of the existing building will be leased by The Herald Publishing Company, LLC which will continue to print The Post-Standard, where it’s been printed for 40 years.

On December 13, 2017 the recipients of the Regional Council Awards were announced. Of those announced, VIP Structures received $1.5 million in funding for the advancement of their investment in the former Post Standard Building.

“We’re thrilled to have been identified as a recipient of the available funding. The funding will help us take a building that may have been destined for vacancy in the heart of downtown, and help us do our part in ensuring the economic success of downtown Syracuse as well as the surrounding neighborhoods,” said Nutting.

The entire $1.5 million in funding will be used to help VIP refurbish the existing structure for commercial use by VIP, other tenants, and the Herald Publishing Company, LLC.
