The vision for the Jon Diaz Community Center (JDCC) continues to gain momentum as planning and support grow for a community space focused on youth empowerment, education, and community building in Nedrow and the surrounding area.
The upcoming 4th Annual JDCC Gala marks an important opportunity to build on that progress. The gala will take place May 2 at The Oncenter, bringing together supporters, partners, and community members to advance awareness and fundraising efforts.
At last year’s event, JDCC Founder & Executive Director, Latavius Murray, alongside operating partner ICAN (Integrated Community Alternatives Network), unveiled an immersive video rendering of the future center, developed by VIP Architectural Associates.

Designed as more than just a building, the center will serve as a hub for after-school programs, mentorship, wellness initiatives, and community connection – representing a long-term investment in opportunity and growth. As planning and fundraising continue, that vision remains central, supported by ongoing engagement and a shared commitment to bringing the project to life.
