We’re thrilled to celebrate our colleague Mike Durkin, Vice President of Client & Investor Relations at VIP Structures, as a recipient of United Way of Central New York’s Torchbearer Award!

Spend any time with Mike, and chances are he’ll run into someone he knows. More importantly, people know Mike, and they know they can count on him to make a connection, lend a hand, or help bring the right people together to make a difference.

For more than 25 years, Mike has built his career around relationships, but the connections he’s made extend well beyond business. A lifelong Central New York resident, he’s a familiar face at community events, a longtime supporter of local organizations and causes, and someone who has consistently found ways to give back to the community around him. Mike currently serves on the boards of the United Way of Central New York and the Syracuse Builders Exchange and has supported numerous community organizations over the years, including previously serving on the board of the Jamesville-DeWitt Youth Athletic Association.

As a United Way Torchbearer, Mike is recognized for this public support and active participation in encouraging businesses, individuals, and community members to get involved.

That same commitment is reflected in how Mike approaches his work at VIP. As Vice President of Client & Investor Relations, he develops and strengthens relationships with clients, investors, business leaders, and community partners throughout the region, connecting people with the right resources, opportunities, and each other, often long after a project is complete.

“Mike has an incredible ability to connect with people and bring them together. He is generous with his time, thoughtful about how he can help, and genuinely invested in the people and organizations that make Central New York such a strong community. We’re incredibly proud to see Mike recognized as a Torchbearer and grateful for everything he brings to VIP and our community.”

Across his work and involvement in the community, Mike has built a reputation for showing up, lending his support, and making a difference for those around him. We’re proud to see that impact recognized with an honor that feels so fitting.

Congratulations, Mike!
