The Mohawk Valley EDGE Flex Building project at the Marcy Nanocenter Campus in Utica, New York, is a strategic development aimed at enhancing the region’s semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure. Located within a 434-acre advanced manufacturing campus, the Flex Building project is designed to attract and accommodate supply chain companies crucial to the semiconductor industry.

In partnership with Mohawk Valley EDGE, VIP’s integrated team played a key role in the project’s early stages, contributing site and schematic design expertise used to secure grant funding. As part of a larger initiative to expand regional manufacturing capabilities, VIP helped program a total of 150,000 square feet of flex office and warehouse space.

Groundbreaking for site preparation of the first phase occurred in fall 2023, with the construction of a 60,000 SF industrial flex space commencing in June 2024. The building is designed with slab-on-grade floor, conventional steel framing, and insulated metal panel siding to ensure durability and energy efficiency. The completed facility will serve as a critical hub for supply chain companies supporting semiconductor manufacturing at the Marcy Nanocenter Campus.

This project represents a significant investment in the future of advanced manufacturing in the region, aligning with the broader goals of expanding the semiconductor industry’s presence in the Mohawk Valley.
