Christopher Paulus

Chief Investment Officer

Chris Paulus serves as VIP’s Chief Investment Officer and oversees the Nutting Family’s investment strategy, asset allocation, and portfolio performance. In addition to working with the Family, Chris works with the President of Development to structure, finance, and execute VIP’s development projects. He is responsible for assembling and underwriting project capital stacks, developing and validating pro formas, and collaborating with legal counsel to structure and negotiate agreements.

Chris previously served as CFO of VIP Family of Companies for four years. Prior to joining VIP, Chris structured and financed more than $800 million in commercial real estate transactions with Wells Fargo and U.S. Bank in Washington, D.C. and previously worked in a family office’s real estate development firm in the Dallas–Fort Worth market. He holds degrees in finance and accounting from Georgetown University and an MBA from Loyola University Maryland.
