After residing in the Chicago area for over 20 years, it was Ken and his family’s spirit of adventure, the people at VIP, and Upstate New York’s rich landscape that allowed them to make the move to Syracuse, NY.
Ken is a licensed engineer by trade with over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. He is a strong proponent of design-build and an integrator who spans across architecture, engineering and construction operations. While at Wight & Co., Ken successfully directed design and construction teams resulting in improved project performances and enhanced client experiences.
Osmun is an accomplished veteran who served 9 years as an officer with the US Navy with distinguished honors. He developed a Quality Assurance and Quality Control process that is rooted in his military background and focuses on delivering the best product and value to his clients. To that end, Ken believes strongly that there is always room for progress and improvement even when a job is delivered successfully.
Ken is always asking the question, “How can we add value to our clients’ goals?”
He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and holds several professional certifications that include: AGC Certificate of Management-Lean Construction (CM-Lean), LEED® Accredited Professional – LEED® BD+C, and Design Build Accredited Professional (DBIA).
Outside of work you might find Ken running or biking in the great outdoors. Ken has completed several marathons, is a top-ranked age-group triathlete where he has earned All-American Honors for USA Triathlon, and graduated from college as an NCAA Cross-Country All-American.
Please join us in welcoming Ken to the VIP team!
We are pleased that James E. Herr, LEED® AP, CCM, while he has transitioned out of the day-to-day role of running VIP’s construction company, will continue to play a key role as Construction Manager, President Emeritus. Jim will be focusing on projects and initiatives that best serve our clients, our construction department and the enterprise as a whole. We are grateful for Jim’s 38 years of leadership and dedication, and we look forward to his continued contributions for years to come.
